Lena Perenchio is a passionate advocate for reproductive justice and maternal health.
She holds a graduate degree in Public Health with a certificate in Sexuality, Sexual and Reproductive Health, as well as dual undergraduate degrees in (1) International Relations and (2) Non-Governmental Organizations and Social Change.
Lena has extensive fieldwork experiences that span the globe. She has worked on grassroots education and health literacy campaigns in Kenya to combat female genital circumcision, collaborated on creating a global women’s narrative database through interviews conducted in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and served as a Birth Doula in the United States, providing comprehensive emotional, physical, and informational support to individuals and families during childbirth.
Her education and experiences have deeply shaped her values, which are rooted in informed consent, trauma-informed care, systems thinking, storytelling, social justice, and human-centered design. These principles guide Lena's efforts to advance reproductive justice and transform maternal health care across both service delivery and policy.
